The Fringe’s top venue showcases it’s 2007 shows

The Spiegel Garden - Edinburgh Festival’s weirdest and most wonderful venue - opened its gates to the press today to launch a blooming spectacular program of entertainment.

This year’s attractions include junkyard theatre with Chronicles of a Sleepless Moon, side show antics from The Insect Circus Museum, and late-night saucy cabaret by the sensational Meow Meow.

There is also a fantastic line up of local artists, including Tam White, the Loveboat Big Band and Orkestra Del Sol.

Every show takes place in the Garden which comprises two venues: The Spiegeltent and the new Bosco Theatre. The Spiegel Garden is set in the beautiful George Square Gardens.

The Spiegeltent is a historic entertainment pavilion that features ornate glass etchings, secluded banquettes, a rich wooden bar and a magnificent parquetry dance floor.

The Bosco Theater is a new inclusion in the Garden. This theatre is an original Dutch “Kermis-Circus” which was built in 1909. This venue combines great intimacy with a considerable capacity for an audience.

The venue also has bars and cafes open through the day and night

Venue director David Bates said: “This year we have new and fresh artists after our collaboration with La Clique ended in 2006. We have an absolutely brilliant reinvention of themes and acts to look forward to at the Spiegel Garden.”

The Spiegel Garden is open until Sunday, 2 September.
