Performer bidding farewell to feminine side on Ebay.

ImageMenno Kuijper is the writer and star of the one-man stage show 'BUTCH – A Queens Struggle to Become a King'.

In his show, Menno reveals the trials and tribulations of becoming an all true man for his new ‘anti-camp’ partner.  With ever-lasting love at stake Menno has enlisted the assistance of some rather unconventional methods to rid himself of anything remotely effeminate.

His latest effort sees the comic recruit the aid of the sometimes controversial online auction site Ebay.

“Desperate time call for desperate measures,” said Menno. “I need to ‘man-up’ and shake the sissy out of my gay world."

Menno has packaged-up his feminine soul in the form of an exclusive elixir that has some rather unusual side-effects including the propensity to burst into Kate Bush songs and flailing your arms above your shoulders uncontrollably. Bottled at source, Menno’s feminine side is now available for the taking, as a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

With four days before the online auction closes, Menno has had no bids from the public. His reaction is one of surprise:
“What! C’mon people, I know my feminine side is second-hand but it’s worth the asking price of £5, 000.”

The Dutch comedy-writer’s ideal buyer would be a millionaire, such as Elton John or his lifetime hero Mr T. The A-Team star was the one who Menno claims “turned me gay”.

Menno is looking forward to educating audiences that come to his show on the “human face” of living in the gay community.

“My show is really about struggling for identity and belonging in the world in which I live.”

BUTCH – A Queen’s Struggle to Become a King can be seen at 10Dome, The Pleasance Dome, Edinburgh between 1 and 27 August 07 and at Fringe Sunday on 12 August | 11pm.
