Theatre troupe raided by Columbian drugs police.

Image A top theatre troupe have been raided by Columbian police as they were on route to Edinburgh for their Festival run.

Fuerzabruta, the Argentinian physical theatre group, was stopped by narcotics police as they left Bogota, Columbia for the Edinburgh Fringe last week.

The police tore open transport containers using knives to slash through the specially designed reinforced vinyl lining of the swimming pool which provides the show's most spectacular visual effect.

However, disaster was averted when Fuerzabruta’s technical team along with a transportation company worked around the clock to make sure that the show is ready as quickly as possible. A new swimming pool has been made in the record time of three days and is currently being flown to Edinburgh from Argentina.

Fuerzabruta has been forced to cancel performances scheduled on 2 and 3 August. They have added an extra date to their run on Sunday 5 August at 5pm so as not to disappoint audiences.

The theatre group were set to play the just-constructed 1200-seat black tent at Ocean Terminal.

The theatre spectacular is famous for its iconic image of a man running on a treadmill and crashing through a wall.
