Remember how I said I was being temperate in my drinking this year?

Bollocks.  Last night the Vaudeville Cabaret launched and, as we were
delayed in starting due to a previous overrun, I filled my time
productively.  With red wine.

This is why today, I feel somewhat less than fresh.

The show was sensational and the turnout was tremendous, especially given
the traditional Scottish summer weather.  I am reminded of my Scottish
nana's favourite joke: "We had a lovely summer this year.  It fell on a
Saturday."

It is invidious to single out any one act from a variety line up, especially
as they were all great. But the Amazing Ari gets a special mention for being
the only person I've ever added as a Myspace friend via a friend of a friend
of a friend who I have then actually met in the flesh.

Today I am not only hungover, I'm also in pain, owing to a late-night
dancing extravaganza with my programming director Feimatta and the lovely
Ophelia Bitz.  I had no idea I knew so much flamenco.  Or that muscles
could ache quite so much.

Ah, the Fringe. Plus ca change ...
