I, Curio am writing today’s blog atop Arthur’s Seat, a majestic traipse that takes you high above the city of Edinburgh.

It’s the perfect spot to sit bleary-eyed from a night of review writing, a few too many red wines, and relate a little scoop that will warm the very cockles of your heart.

Frankie Boyle is one of the UK’s best stand-ups. This week he was trying out his new show in preview gigs. The Press were banned, though you can still amazingly read my exclusive review of the gig. (How do I do it!)

I also received a little ‘gossip from the gutter’ about the former wild-man of comedy.

Frankie is one of the most down-to-earth chaps that you’ll ever meet. He’s now tee-total, lives in London and has surely enough cash in his pockets to travel in style wherever he pleases.

However last night one of my hacks was on the scene to witness Frankie boarding the late-night discount bus to head back to his hometown Glasgow.

With the Festival set to flatter some of the biggest egos on the planet, it’s refreshing to see that one comedy superstar has kept has his feet firmly on the ground.

Exeunt!
